I am so pleased to hear from the *real* Bill Ayers and most
grateful to the New York Times for printing this piece. It was
the most painful part of the election for me to see Bill Ayers'
name dragged through hateful hysteria, for his work and life
experiences have served as models for me in the work I do. I
wish Bill Ayers and his dear family a peaceful and
happy holiday season. Indeed, I have been holding
them in my thoughts for months.

Thank you for posting this, Tamar. It shows yet another way some people will twist the truth to achieve their means. I give Mr. Ayers full points for having the class to remain silent during the campaign.
Doing so would have only meant that he was stooping to his detractors’ tawdry level and giving them a credibilty they didn’t deserve.
