Blimey, what a week that was!

Quote of the day:
So, whatever you want to do, just do it….Making a damn fool of yourself is absolutely essential. Gloria Steinem
[at the end of the walk – 84 miles – Bowness on Solway]
Yes, you’ve guessed. I am home. 90-100 miles of walking later. Lots to tell and reorganize. Hang in there. I must catch my breath, clear up the last remaining blister and clean the bathrooms. And then … I will have tales to tell.
Did you miss me?
P.S. Check in at Jean and Andy for their reports of our Bloggers’ meeting.

Enjoying your account of your trip, somewhat belatedly. I gotta tell you though, that Gloria Steinem quote I really was glad to read for myself. I know how to do that!
is that a telescoping walking stick with a compass on top? jesus, woman, that is Nice! i usually opt for the wood, but that one looks nice for traveling by air. etc. i sound like a shill flack here, so don’t tell me the brand on your blog, but in an email. yeah?
My dahlings! I adore the photo! I was so relaxed, mellow, authentic, ecstatic, happy to be amongst real, real friends, and just having so much fun. I chose to post it here because it captured all those feelings for me.
I intend to blog about our meeting soon … really, really soon.
…and I was the guilty party who took the photo. One of the “features” of digital cameras is shutter lag, meaning that the shutter went click just as Tamar was in mid-gesticulation!
Winston, I was there (that’s my hand on the right-hand side). Tamar was not drunk, just happy – and exhausted, I’m sure, since she’d just got off a transatlantic flight.
Welcome back, Tamar. Looks like the English deluge couldn’t dampen your adventurous spirit! Hope you got all the photos I emailed you yesterday? It took quite a long time to upload them so I’m wondering if they actually got through?
Yes, you were sorely missed. But what a fantastic experience you have had! Looking forward to hearing details and seeing more pics. I had to chuckle at the photo in the … what? pub? … you look about “three sheets to the wind” as we say down here. Never did really know what that means, except that a designated driver is highly recommended.
Welcome back! There was something of a hole whilst you were out of touch; in a way, it was odd having blogging conversations about our get-together when you couldn’t take part in them. Looking forward to hearing your tales!
The photos are wonderful, Tamar, glad to read you’re home safe and I’m looking forward to reading more – hope your feet are better, col hacavod Tam! – xx’s
look forward to hearing about the journey!
Oh wow, well done! I’m so glad you were able to complete the walk. I was seriously worried your path would be washed away in last week’s floods. Can’t wait to hear more about it. And reading your blog will be quite different now. As Andy wrote on my blog the other day, now I can hear your blogposts in your own voice!
